This example of 1829 Davignon 1-A is in almost good condition with an apparently even but weak strike, with details potentially distorted from the double striking evident more in-hand than in the photos. This is not the only variety from the Ski Nose family known double struck, offering the opportunity to collect other error varieties from this family. While this example was struck on a German silver planchet, the darker surfaces make visibility of details more difficult to see. Only 5 examples of this variety are documented in my census, but the true population is probably closer to 10.
