1836-O Davignon 4-D comes from the French Connection family which has 8 documented varieties. All varieties from this family sport the New Orleans mintmark, and were likely produced in this vicinity although Riddell didn't document this variety in his 1845 Monograph. All known examples were struck on brass or billon planchets.
This example has shows nice G/VG details with reasonably presentable surfaces. The only issues are the hole at 1 o'clock and a couple obverse scrapes. This is the finest of 2 examples of this variety I've been able to offer of this fantasy date-mint variety.
