1852 Z1-G from the Backwards NS family is one of the major rarities in the contemporary counterfeit 3cS series. Currently, only 2 examples of this variety have been documented, and that is after 20 years of my aggressive efforts documenting counterfeit 3cS varieties and examples. This is also just 1 of 2 hand-made varieties known dated 1852.

This example sports Fine or better details and has a pronounced square nail hole around 1 o'clock on the obverse. The crude die work in the date and lettering, notably the backward N in UNITED and both S's in STATES (the second S is not visible in this example), make this variety particularly exciting and distinctive, and on par with the 3 1855-dated ctft 3cS varieties.

If you are collecting contemporary counterfeit 3cS varieties by die marriage, or even just by date, or even just acquiring the crudest die struck counterfeit varieties currently documented, this is going to be one of the very rare opportunities to acquire this. It is highly unlikely that I will offer another example of this variety, or variety from this family, again for at least 10 years.
