Here's an interesting, unusual, and odd piece all bundled into 1. Frankly, I'm not entirely sure what this is. Is it an electrotype? Is it just a cast? I don't fully know. This piece weighs 3.0 grams, but the genuine should weigh, when new, 4.67 grams. It appears to be copper, but the surfaces are obviously rough. I don't think this is a heavily circulated and environmentally damaged genuine pattern of Judd 228. This leaves me with either electrotype or cast copy of Judd 228. Was it made for a museum or private collection? I don't know. What I do know is that this is not a sandwiched coin where halves of 2 coins were joined together as I do not see a seam on the edge. Therefore, since I cannot guarantee what this is, and I'm putting forth my best hypotheses, this is being sold as-is, and you can add this oddity to your collection!
