1861 Z3-H is a hand-made die contemporary counterfeit Seated quarter struck on a copper and brass planchets. It is a relatively common variety with an estimated 100+ examples extant. Most examples show extensive wear in the Fine and lower grades.
 
This examples is well worn in the VG grade range. The planchet surfaces are in nice condition with a uniform color. There are some minor surface scratches which is commonly found on this variety, likely because the thin silver plating was wearing off exposing the underlying brass planchet alloy.
