The 1899-S TD.1-TD.C Barber half dollar counterfeit is an interesting contemporary counterfeit from this period. It was struck on a German silver planchet, unusual (but not unheard of) for such a later die struck counterfeit type. And the reverse die is boldly cracked. A total of 6 examples have been documented to date (as of May 2026).
 
This example is more worn than most I have seen attesting to its prolonged period of circulation without being detected as not genuine.
