Very rare Morgan Dollar struck from hand-made dies on a sterling silver planchet.  This is one of five varieties associated with the 'Large Date' family.  This counterterfeiter (or group) struck these counterfeits between 1897 and 1900 based on historical accounts, and may have been the predecessor to the more famous 'Micro O' family of transfer die counterfeits.  Only 3 examples of this counterfeit variety have yet been documented.
